Museum of Jurassic Technology Posters

+
The Museum of Jurassic Technology is one of LA's hidden gems. It is not what you would expect in terms of a museum. It is an entirely different experience. The museum is dark and full of sounds. You are forced to weave through each exhibition. You are never really too sure what to expect; each exhibition is fascinating. Two of the exhibitions that caught my eye were miniature exhibitions, the eye of the needle and the fruit stone carving.

With this project, I set out to create two experimental posters that engage the viewer in the same way that the museum does. For the eye of the needle exhibition poster, I drew miniature drawings, that I scaled down approximately 15%, of the sculptures Hagop Sandaldjian created in the eye of a needle. For the Fruit Stone Carving Exhibition Poster, I included the description of the carving in miniature type to scale of the actual carving. I also included vintage magnifying glasses and vintage chain to lend to the aesthetic of the museum.
